Meet Melissa Murray

Hi, I’m Melissa Murray, the founder of Horizons of Hope. I created this service because too many individuals and families living with disability and trauma were falling through the cracks.

In my work across child safety, disability support, and therapeutic care, I saw how complex needs often went unmet . Not from lack of effort, but from a lack of understanding, consistency, and compassion. As a trauma-informed practitioner with lived experience of ADHD and mild autistic traits, I understand what it’s like to feel overwhelmed, unseen, and unsupported. Horizons of Hope was born from the desire to change that.

With a strong background in Family Services, I’ve worked closely with children and families navigating complex systems. I understand the added pressure when NDIS and Child Safety involvement overlap and how vital it is to feel safe, heard, and supported.

At Horizons of Hope, we believe real change begins with understanding, not just of the individual, but of the whole family behind them. We value trust, dignity, empowerment, and promote hope.
